- Don't miss the Annual MLK Parade today in nearby Lawrenceville! The parade will begin at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center at 75 Langley Dr. and end at Central Gwinnett High School at 564 West Crogan St. The parade kicks off at 12 p.m. and will be followed by an indoor celebration at the high school. - For those looking for a new job opportunity, Gwinnett County Corrections will host a job fair on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m; however, those interested must apply online before Wednesday, Jan. 18 to participate in the fair. - The special Museum After Dark event will be held on Friday, Jan. 27 from 6-9 p.m in Buford. People of all ages have the opportunity to see the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center for free and discover exhibits, artifacts, and more. This event is perfect for families. - The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Community Outreach Section participated in the MLK Drive-Thru Food Giveaway that was held at Lenora Park in Snellville. - A Gwinnett County educator recently won a prestigious award. Melissa Barth was recently named a 2023 Don Cargill STEM Scholars recipient. She is one of 23 nominees in the state of Georgia and the only educator from Gwinnett County. (Harbins Elementary PTA via Facebook)
