- A Gwinnett County haunted house has been recognized by USA Today as being one of the best in the county. The Netherworld Haunted House in Stone Mountain was given the tenth spot on the ranked list. It was recognized for its sets, animatronics, special effects, and professional make-up. Hundreds of county residents attend the haunted house each year. (WSBTV)
- The Gwinnett County Grand Jury has indicted Sean Curry on one count of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude. The indictment is the result of a human trafficking investigation conducted by the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office. The investigation was launched in January. If convicted, Curry could end up serving a life sentence in prison. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
- The Gwinnett County Police Department has recognized a father and son for helping a police officer during an attack by a gun-wielding robbery suspect. Otto Ortiz and his son, Anderson, were recognized during the department's Awards and Promotional Ceremony. According to the department, the situation might have had a different outcome if the father and son had not intervened. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
