Blues With Jimmie Vaughan, Hillbillies in Lilburn and Aliens in Town Center

It’s going to be a beautiful — and dry (fingers crossed) — weekend in Gwinnett County.

From blues guitarist Jimmie Vaughan (Stevie Ray’s bro) to HillyBilly Palooza to a British car invasion, there’s plenty of activity going on around town.

Take in a New London Show

• Sept. 6-8: The New London Theatre in Snellville is playing “Born Yesterday” in three shows. (8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 2:30 p.m. Sunday; $10-$15). 

Blues Brother

• Saturday, Sept. 7: Jimmie Vaughan and the Tilt-A-Whirl Band plays the Peachtree Point Amphitheater, Buford (7 p.m., $36-$58). Jimmie’s late brother Stevie Ray Vaughan was a blues legend, and Jimmie’s pretty spectacular himself.

Here Come the Brits

• Saturday, Sept. 7: The British Car Fayre in downtown Norcross is one of the metro area’s largest show of British motorworks. There’s live music to boot. (10 a.m.- 3p.m., free).

Bridal Show

• Sunday, Sept. 8: The Georgia Bridal Show is at the Gwinnett Center near Duluth, featuring the South’s best in everything wedding-related. (12 p.m.-5 p.m., $9-$10). 

Fair on the Square

• Sunday, Sept. 8: The fifth annual Lawrenceville Fall Festival comes to the grounds of the Gwinnett Historical Courthouse with food, arts & crafts and lots of family fun (11 a.m.-7 p.m., free).

HillyBilly Palooza

• Sunday, Sept. 8: Outdoor music fun at Music on Main Street in Lilburn (2 p.m.-8 p.m.).

Big-Screen Aliens

• Saturday, Sept. 7: “Men in Black 3” is the selection for B98’s “B @ the Movies” in Suwanee Town Center. Bring a blanket (but no booze). (7 p.m., free).
