Here are the top three stories in Dacula today:

  1. The Gwinnett County Police Department reports that no credible threat was discovered at Brookwood High School on Wednesday. The school was placed on lockdown in response to a reported weapon near the campus. The department responded to the report and had several units blocking the school's entrances and exits while the investigation was conducted. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. Gwinnett County has announced that its emergency rental assistance program's portal will be closing soon. The portal was first opened in April 2021 as a way for the county to distribute federal emergency rental assistance program funds. So far, the county has distributed $79.3 million in financial assistance to 6,909 county households. (WSBTV)
  3. Gwinnett County Public Schools' Class of 2022 posted ACT scores lower than the Class of 2021. The decline in test scores follows a statewide and national trend. Despite the decline, the district's Class of 2022 outperformed its peers from across the country, on average. The district's Class of 2022 posted a mean composite score of 22.3.
