Dacula Man Convicted Of Raping Girl, 10, Gets Life Sentence

The 36-year-old Gwinnett Co. man, who was accused of raping a 10-year-old girl, was also accused of previously molesting an Illinois girl.

DACULA, GA β€” A 36-year-old Dacula man accused of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl has been sentenced to life in prison, the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office said Wednesday.

Allegations against Cristian Robledo stem from January when he was accused of spending several years molesting the girl, according to the district attorney's office.

Prosecutors said the girl told investigators that the abuse continued until the previous afternoon when Robledo was accused of raping her in a Dacula home.

Robledo was accused of previously molesting an Illinois girl.

The two girls testified in the recent trial, along with a nurse and forensic biologists who found male DNA inside of the 10-year-old girl, according to the district attorney's office.

A jury on Monday found Robledo guilty of rape, aggravated child molestation, child molestation and other child sexual abuse charges, according to the district attorney's office.

He was sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years, of which he will spend an additional 10 years in prison, according to the district attorney's office.

Robledo must register as a sex offender and cannot have contact with the two girls, according to the district attorney's office.

Gwinnett County District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson said she prays the girls "will be able to heal and recover."
