Dairy Queen, Winder Highway Retail Center Cases to Go Before Planning Commission
Both cases are on the Nov. 5 planning commission agenda.
The Gwinnett County Planning Commission will meet Tuesday, Nov. 5, and is expected to make recommendations on two cases of local interest.
Among the items on the Nov. 5 agenda is a rezoning and special use permit request related to a 1.65-acreΒ parcel of property near the intersection of Hamilton Mill Road and Puckett's Mill Road. The owners of the property want to construct a Dairy Queen at the location.
ApplicantsΒ Sadiq Pathrawala and Asfak Momin are seeking to rezone the property from RA-200 to C-1 and have requested a special use permit to allow the construction of the fast foodΒ restaurant.
The planning department has recommended approval with conditions.Β TheΒ rezoning case (RZC2013-00006) and the special use permit request (SUP2013-00043)Β were originally scheduled to go before the planning commission on Oct. 1, but were tabled.
Also on Tuesday night's agenda is a rezoning request related to a 39.07-acre tract of land on Winder Highway.
WUSF 2 Sugarloaf LLC and Walton Georgia LLC have requested their property, located just southΒ of 316,Β be rezoned from RA-200 (residential) to C-2 (commercial) for the purpose of building a commercial retail and officer center with four outparcels.Β The proposed development would include 364,760 square feet in several buildings including 266,700 square feet of retail space in the main building. A total of 1,079 parking spaces would be provided.
The planning department has recommended approval with conditions.
The Gwinnett County Planning Commission meets at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center (GJAC),Β 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville. The meeting will beΒ held in the GJAC auditorium and is scheduled to beginΒ at 7 p.m.
