Dog Walkers Issued State Park 'Tails On Trails' Challenge
Hikers who take their dogs on seven specified Georgia state-park hikes will get a t-shirt ... and a bandanna for their pooch.

Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites have always been dog-friendly.
But now, they're specifically inviting dog owners to bring their four-legged friends out for a hike.
"Tails On Trails," is a new dog-walking club, starting next month, which includes a seven-trail hiking challenge.

Most of the seven parks are within day-trip distance of metro Atlanta. But, if you're considering an overnight stay at any of them, Georgia State Parks also offer dog-friendly cottages.
They are available to book online at GaStateParks.org/TailsOnTrails. These select cottages often fill quickly, so reservations are highly recommended. A $45 fee per dog (limit 2) is charged.
The seven trails on the Tails On Trails itinerary are:
Fort Mountain State Park β Lake Trail (1.1-mile loop)
F.D. Roosevelt State Park β Mountain Creek Trail (3.2-mile loop)
Don Carter State Park β Woodland Loop and Lakeview Loop Trails (1.5 miles)
