Fight Leads To Shooting Death, Gwinnett Man Charged With Murder
Authorities say they believe an argument led to the shooting death of a man Sunday night in Dacula. Another man was charged with his murder.

DACULA, GA — A Dacula man was charged with murder in connection with the shooting death Sunday of a man following a domestic dispute.
Vernell Cheneau Jr., 37, is in the Gwinnett County Jail Monday, charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
According to a statement from Gwinnett County Police, Cheanau was caught after he fled the scene of a shooting on Overlook Hill Pass in unincorporated Dacula. When police arrived at the scene, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound inside the garage of the home. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family.

Investigators said they believe a dispute between the victim and the suspect led to the shooting. Other family members were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
Cheneau's arrest capped the second deadly shooting in one day in Gwinnett County. Earlier on Sunday, a 22-year-old man was found shot dead in the parking lot of a Peachtree Corners convenience store. Aaron Woods, 22, was charged with murder and is being sought by Gwinnett police in connection with that shooting.
