• Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful Plants the Seeds for a Successful Treecycling Event (metroatlantaceo.com) — Dacula residents can recycle their live Christmas trees locally at Fire Stations 17 and 27 between December 26 and January 21, with trees turned into mulch for area parks. Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful’s Bring One for the Chipper event culminates January 24, 2026, at Bethesda Park. Trees must be completely undecorated, and volunteers 14 and older are invited to help.

• Dacula man sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting minors (wgauradio.com) — A Dacula resident has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after investigators used a school-issued laptop to uncover evidence of sexual exploitation of minors. Federal prosecutors say he used social media to solicit explicit images from underage girls in Georgia and Missouri. Authorities stress the importance of parents closely monitoring their children’s online activity.
