Georgia Ranked Among Worst States For Health Care
WalletHub ranked all 50 states and Washington, D.C., using data on health care cost, accessibility and outcome.
Georgia has been ranked as the sixth worst state for health care in the U.S. according to a new ranking from personal finance website WalletHub. The organization compared the 50 states and Washington, D.C., across 43 measures of health care cost, accessibility and outcome; including the average monthly insurance premium, physicians per capita, and share of insured population., WalletHub said in a news release.
Georgia ranked behind Arkansas and ahead of Oklahoma. The worst ranked state was Alaska. The best states for health care were Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
The ranking was determined using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Child and Adolescent Health Measurement Initiative, Association of American Medical Colleges, and Urgent Care Association of America, among many other sources.
