  1. The Jackson EMC Foundation has awarded grants to organizations serving Gwinnett County. The grants totaled $102,000 and were presented during the Foundation's September meeting. The grants were awarded to Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett, Hebron Community Health Center, Hope Clinic, and Junior Achievement of Georgia. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
  2. Thousands of Gwinnett County voters participated on the first day of early voting. The voters cast ballots at the county's 11 early polling locations. According to Gwinnett Elections Supervisor Zach Manifold, about 6,800 ballots were cast by 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The county has over 630,000 registered voters. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
  3. Former Dacula City Attorney Dennis Still has been presented with the Lifetime Service Award. The recognition was given during Dacula's Oct. 6 council meeting by the Georgia Municipal Association. The award is meant to show appreciation for Still's four decades of public service in local government. (City of Dacula)
