Here are the top three stories today in and around Dacula:

  1. The Gwinnett County Police Department reported that a man was been pronounced dead outside an auto detailing business in Lilburn. The incident occurred at 4534 Stone Mountain Highway, about 20 miles away from Dacula. A department public information officer is currently gathering information on the case but early signs point to a possible homicide. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. Gwinnett County is hosting a "Camp Out and Clean Up" event on Friday and Saturday at Tribble Mill Park. The event is a family camp out on Friday night with a park cleanup volunteer opportunity on Saturday morning. Today is the last day to register and there is a $15 fee for residents. (Gwinnett County)
  3. A group of concerned parents has raised concerns that Superintendent Calvin Watts may have violated his employment contract. According to the parents, Watts took a role on Cognia's Board of Directors — the agency that oversees Gwinnett County Public Schools' accreditation. He is the only superintendent on the agency's board. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
