HOT Lanes Toll Hits New High — $8

That amounts to 52 cents per mile, more than the cost of two gallons of gasoline.

By Scott Bernarde

It cost some rush-hour motorists a pricey 52 cents per mile to drive from Gwinnett to DeKalb Wednesday morning, according to this report on All News 106.7 FM.

You can get a better deal on gasoline than that.

The peak-time fare was $8 — considered a record high — to use the 15-mile stretch of HOT express lanes on southbound I-85. You can buy more than two gallons of gasoline in Gwinnett at that price.

Officials say the HOT toll is dependent on the time of day and amount of traffic.

Do you use the HOT lanes. What do you think of Tuesday's high fee? Tell us in the comments below.
