According to Alabama football legend, Bear Bryant once made the following comment upon calling Auburn at 6 a.m. and discovering none of the football coaches were in their offices yet:
"What the hell's the matter with you people down there? Don't y'all take your football seriously?"
Current coaching god Nick Saban also apparently considers the matter of college football a fairly serious matter. Saban, who some apparently refer to as the "scariest man in college football," takes his job so seriously that he can't even be bothered to waste time considering what he will eat for lunch ("Process" salad anyone?).
Taking football seriously is not limited just to coaches. As I type this, my dog Buddy is lying next to me sporting his Alabama collar. The room I am in has multiple pieces of Alabama memorabilia scattered about. I'm not wearing any Alabama apparel today, but I was yesterday and probably will be again tomorrow.
Am I ready for football season to begin? You bet I am.
In the meantime though, I content myself with reading about the upcoming season and watching preparations through the very cool @Alabamafbl Instagram account. I also follow the equally entertaining @bamaathletics which shared the video I have embedded in this post. If I end up in trouble with the HOA because the temptation to replicate this became too great, you'll know who to blame.
