'Inappropriate Contact' Alleged on High School Baseball Trip
Parkview High in Lilburn is investigating possible incident in hotel as baseball team was in Charleston for tournament.

Parkview High School students are being investigated after allegations of inappropriate behavior during the baseball team’s trip to Charleston for a weekend tournament, the school district confirmed.
Gwinnett County Public Schools released a statement confirming allegations against six upperclassmen in an incident Friday night at a Charleston hotel.
The older students are accused of entering three hotel rooms of incoming freshmen and wrestling with them; one of the older student is accused of “inappropriate physical contact” toward one of the freshmen, the school district said.

“Parkview High School is investigating allegations of misbehavior of six upperclassmen toward younger students during a baseball tournament that was held in Charleston, SC.

It is alleged that the older students entered approximately three hotel rooms of incoming freshmen players on Friday evening and began to wrestle with the younger students. This was discovered later Friday night as coaches were checking on the players. In addition, an allegation was made of inappropriate physical contact by an older student toward one of the freshmen. The coach reported this allegation to the Athletic Director and administrators so that an investigation could begin.
The school is actively investigating this situation and will take appropriate action based on the findings of the investigation. School Police have been notified and upon completion of their investigation will share information with the appropriate jurisdictional authority.”
No details from the incident were released, but WSB-TV reported the outcome could be “very serious.”
Parkview High is one of the state’s top baseball programs. The Panthers recently won the Class 6A championship, its sixth state championship.
