Nearly 40 Feet Christmas Tree Now In Gwinnett County For 34th Annual Tree Lighting

The Norway Spruce arrived Tuesday from the North Carolina mountains. County staff will decorate and light it for Thanksgiving Day.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA β€” A nearly 40-foot Norway Spruce arrived Tuesday in Gwinnett County, according to a news release.

Crews transported the large tree from the North Carolina mountains Monday and installed it on the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse grounds, located at 185 West Crogan Street in Lawrenceville.

β€œThis tree is important because it symbolizes the holiday season," said Parks and Recreation Manager Tina Pangle in a statement. "It’s the 34th year and everyone starts getting excited about what’s to come.”

County staff will begin decorating the beloved tree for a lighting tradition that takes place on Thanksgiving Day. The tree will remain on display throughout the holiday season.
