- Gwinnett County Public Schools appointed two new principals. Ellyce Cone will be the principal at Patrick Elementary School and Derico White will be the new principal for McConnell Middle School. The appointments were finalized by the Gwinnett County Board of Education on Thursday. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
- The Gwinnett County Elections office has been reviewing a series of election challenges. Last month, activists submitted eight boxes containing about 15,000 challenges to the offices. The challenges were the culmination of about 10 months of work comparing change-of-address and county voter rolls. The county's election supervisor reports the sampled challenges were not valid. (Tampa Bay Times)
- A Gwinnett County church is trying to reduce the county's overdose death rate. Snellville's Church of Christ is encouraging residents to have open conversations about drug use and addiction. The talks are the first step in addressing the increase in drug overdose deaths reported by the state's Department of Public Health. (WSBTV)
