Overnight Blaze Rips Through Roof, Heavily Damages Gwinnett Home

A fire just after midnight in Lawrenceville left four adults and three children temporarily homeless.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A fire just after midnight Friday heavily damaged a Lawrenceville quadraplex, burning off part of its roof.

Gwinnett County firefighters arrived at 12:44 a.m. to find flames already breaking through the roof of the structure, located on Britain Drive. The fire was declared under control about half an hour later, according to a statement from Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.

Although all occupants escaped unharmed, four adults and three children were left temporarily homeless because of the damage. The American Red Cross is providing assistance.
