Here are the top three stories in Dacula today:

  1. Construction on the 2,000-acre Rowen development in Gwinnett County will likely begin in October. The development hopes to become a global destination for innovation and research. The construction is slated for the pine forest east of Dacula along Route 316. The project is being touted as a fantastic growth opportunity for the county. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  2. The Dacula softball team won Tuesday's game against Collins Hill without the long ball. The team was able to win six to four with short hits. The team has consistently been using home runs to win this season. The last time they played Collins Hill, they were able to win with three home runs. (Scorebook Live)
  3. On Wednesday morning, a school bus was rear-ended. The incident occurred at Singleton Road and Harbins Road. The Gwinnett County Police Department reports that the driver of the truck was arrested for driving too close to the bus and for failing to drive with a valid license. Thankfully, no students were on the bus at the time of the incident. (11 Alive)
