Here are the top three stories today in Dacula:
- The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners recently accepted more than $2 million for senior services. The money was a reimbursement by the Atlanta Regional Commission. The funds will be spent on case management, meals, in-home assistance, recreation, and transportation, according to the county's Department of Community Services. (AJC.com)
- The Dacula High School softball team achieved an 8-7 walk-off victory against Mountain View on Wednesday night. The team was behind by 5 runs but managed to win the game due to wild pitches by Mountain View. The team is currently 10-1 on the 2022 season and 2-0 in regional play. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
- The Gwinnett County Police Department wants to expand the county's Office of Emergency Management. The office is responsible for coordinating response efforts during disasters and severe weather. According to the department, the office is smaller than comparable offices in other Georgia counties. The department is asking for increased funding in the 2023 budget to add more employees to the office. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
