  1. The 2023 National Trap and Skeet teams were announced following the Shotgun Spring Selection Match earlier this month, five honorees are from the state of Georgia. Dacula native William Hinton was named to the USA Shooting's National Men's Trap team. The second half of the selection process will be the 2023 Shotgun National Championships on May 17-28 in Michigan. The team's next outing will be Mar. 4-15 for the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) Shotgun World Cup in Doha, Qatar. (USA Shooting)
  2. Former officer Miles Bryant was arrested and charged Monday on counts of concealing the death of another and a false report of a crime. It is said that Bryant disposed of the naked body of Susana Morales in the woods near Dacula. Morales went missing back in July, walking home from a friend's home in Norcross. Police suspect Bryant of rape, murder, and other charges, although examiners are waiting for more information before any charges are given. Bryant was fired from his officer position after the charges were released, and he was denied bail Tuesday as he is viewed as a danger to the community. (FOX19)
  3. Gwinnett graduates Bradley Dunham and Chantal Jordan were named to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Community Team on Tuesday for their contributions to superior service within their communities. A senior at Georgia and a Dacula graduate, Dunham is seen as a strong leader for UGA student-athletes with his roles with the Leadership Education and Development Academy(L.E.A.D) as well as Student-Athlete Advisory Committee(SAAC). A North Gwinnett graduate and a senior at Vanderbilt, Jordan has been a youth instructor with Swim America teaching water safety, as well as a member of the executive board of the Black Student-Athlete Group. Both of these Gwinnett graduates have been very impactful both on campus as well as off campus in their communities. (Gwinnettdailypost.com)
