  1. On Monday (Feb. 13) afternoon, a vehicle fire on the ramp from I-285 to I-85 North at Spaghetti Junction in Gwinnett County resulted in the closure of the ramp. The fire started around 2:01 PM and involved a fully loaded car carrier. The Georgia Department of Transportation reported that by 3:45 PM, one lane of the ramp had reopened after charred vehicles were removed with tow trucks. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
  2. Markell Clark has joined the University of Georgia football program as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He previously worked at Mississippi State and Arkansas State as a graduate assistant and intern, respectively. Clark, a Dacula native, played defensive line for Appalachian State and is excited to be back home in Georgia. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity via his personal Twitter account.   3. TEDx Alexander Park will host a day-long event on Feb. 25 in nearby Sugar Hill. The event, held at the Eagle Theater, will feature 10 speakers and two entertainers discussing a range of topics, including technology, education, pet adoption, mindfulness, and consciousness. The event organizers say attendees will get" a unique opportunity to network and engage with speakers and other like-minded individuals," as it will be limited to only 100 attendees. This year's theme is "Back to the Basics." (Dacula Patch)
