Wanted Man Goes for a Ride in the Wrong Car

An equipment violation led to the arrest of a Dacula man.

Sometimes youΒ just can't outrun the long arm of the law.

That lesson was driven home for a Dacula man on Aug. 14Β when he made the mistake of going for a ride in a vehicle with windows that hadΒ a bit too much tint.

A Barrow County Sheriff's deputy stopped the 2002 GMC Yukon on Atlanta Highway in Auburn after noticing the darkly-tinted windows. The driver was given a warning, but the passenger was not so fortunate.

A routine check of his identification revealed Marcus Pendley, 25, of Dacula, had an outstanding warrant for probation violation. After the warrant was confirmed, Pendley was placed under arrest and transported to the Barrow County Jail without incident.

Georgia law prohibits tint which reduces light transmission through a vehicle's rear windows and windshield to less than 32 percent. Read more about window tint laws at Georgia.gov.
