- Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services reports that a dog died in a house fire on Wednesday. The incident occurred in the 5000 block of Hidden Branch Drive. Two adults and two additional dogs were displaced due to the fire. The American Red Cross is helping the individuals. The department determined that the fire was accidental and started because of the home's stove. (Patch)
- A Gwinnett County woman has been named a finalist for Georgia's 2022-2023 Early Childhood Educators of the Year award. Elianne Aguilera, a resident of nearby Lawrenceville, is a finalist in the award's Toddler Category. She is an educator at Eli's Academy. Each finalist will receive $500 from the program. If they win, they will receive $3,000 for personal use, $2,000 for a classroom makeover, and up to $2,500 for travel costs associated with the winner's duties. (Gwinnett Daily Post)
- The Gwinnett County Police Department reports that a Norcross High School student was shot and killed on Wednesday near the school's campus. DeAndre Henderson, 17 years old, was found on Technology Drive and died after being transported to a local hospital. The department believes the shooting is an isolated incident. The investigation is being handled by the department. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
