135-Home Community For Age 55 And Older Opens In Dallas

Fischer Homes opened its first active adult community for those age 55 and older, featuring six different ranch-style patio home designs.

DALLAS, GA — Dallas just gained a new 135-home community for its age 55 and older population.

Fischer Homes opened its first active adult community for those age 55 and up: Poplar Place, located on Poplar Road near Dallas Highway and Highway 278.

The gated community — which opened in mid-October — features ranch-style patio homes, priced from the $310,000s to the $400,000s, according to a news release.

"We are excited to bring our patio home collection to the Atlanta market for the first time,” said Doug Cohen, division president at Fischer Homes. "We continue to see demand for communities that are designed around the active adult buyer and Poplar Place is the perfect location for those looking for a quaint setting with desirable amenities and attractions nearby."

There are six different home designs and hundreds of personalization options to choose from, including two to five bedrooms; two to four-and-a-half bathrooms; open kitchens; spacious owner's suites with walk-in closets and private bathrooms; and covered patios.

One of the designs is still under construction and will open in spring 2022.

Additionally, Poplar Place will offer amenities in Phase Two including a clubhouse with a kitchen, indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, a fitness center and a flex room that can be used for yoga and other classes. The community will also feature walking trails, pickleball court and bocce ball.
