Meth Found In Fruit Stand Drug Bust: Paulding Cops

Authorities say 270 grams of methamphetamine were seized at a fruit stand that also offered strawberries and mangoes.

PAULDING COUNTY, GA β€” More than 200 grams of methamphetamine were recently found at a Paulding County fruit stand, resulting in charges for three people, authorities said Thursday.

The drug was found among strawberries and mangoes at the stand located in the 3100 block of Due West Road, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office said.

When a drug task force and other officers arrived at the fruit stand, authorities said they seized 270 grams of methamphetamine.

Authorities said Melvin Stevens was arrested on charges of five counts of trafficking meth and one counts of possession of meth.

Athena Alloway was arrested on charges of four counts of trafficking meth and one count of possession of meth, authorities said.

They added a warrant against Crystal Ballweg, who remains at large, charges her with trafficking meth in connection with the case, authorities said.
