Here are the top five stories today in Dallas-Hiram:

  1. A joint investigation between the Paulding County Sheriff's Office, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force found $2.5 million in meth at a home in Dallas. Wilber Leonel Romero-Zelaya, 43, was arrested after authorities found nine pounds of crystal meth and 115 gallons of liquid meth at the house. He was charged with trafficking methamphetamine.   2. The City of Hiram is looking to hire a deputy city clerk. The deputy city clerk would be responsible for assisting the city clerk with Hiram's day-to-day functions in a timely and successful manner, among other things. Learn more about the position here. (City of Hiram via Facebook)

  4. The 9th Annual Military School Supply Drive is currently underway in Dallas and donations are being accepted until Jul. 26. The drive supports local military families in the Georgia National Guard. Learn more about the event here. (Dallas-Hiram Patch)
