Nebo Team Advances in First Lego League

The Nebo Lego LifeSavers, a team of middle-schoolers connected with , advanced to the First Lego League superregionals Jan. 8 through their performance in the Gwinnett Open First Lego League robotics tournament Dec. 4. The team members are Michael Barbour, Amber White, Rebecca Michaud, Malachi Bell and Zachary Barnes of ; Billie Rodriguez and Stephen Schiliventz of ; and Natalie Long of . In addition to finishing high enough overall to advance, the LifeSavers finished third in robot and technical design.

Nebo sent three other teams composed of elementary school students to the Gwinnett tournament. Sarah Newton, Kenzie Hagerty, Hannah Bower, Rachel Altman, Jack Leathers, Chad Dickerson and Korie Amritt made up the Nebo Bionic DolphinBots. Nicholas Revelos, Matthew Lavallee, Brittany Still, Shaun Eisner, Christian Finger, Sydney Shepherd, Zaria Bowen and Madeleine Stewart formed the Nebo Medicine Machines. Jordan Bevis, Sara Davis, Chris Ward, Hunter Cobb, Micah Bell and Colin Nicholas were the Nebo DoctorBots.
