- The Transportation Security Administration seized a record 6,542 guns at airport checkpoints across the country last year, with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport being at the top of the list. This trend of guns being confiscated tends to occur more often at larger airports in states with fewer gun restrictions, such as Georgia. Besides Atlanta, other airports with high gun interceptions in 2022 include those in Dallas, Austin, Houston, Florida, Nashville, Phoenix, and Denver. (WRDW)
- The Hiram Rosenwald School Museum invites the community to celebrate Black History Month with "A Night of Spoken Word & Talking Food." Back by popular demand, the dinner/performance is scheduled for Feb. 25 with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased online. (The Hiram Rosenwald School Museum)
- Registration is officially open for the 2023 Run with the Badges 5K Glow Run! The rain-or-shine race is happening on Friday, Jun. 2 at Shelton Elementary School in Dallas; gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and the race will kick off at 9:00 p.m. This event is not only the largest 5K in Paulding County, but is also the largest fundraiser for the local nonprofit Paulding Public Safety Appreciation.
