  1. Attorneys are calling for the firing and charging of a Paulding County deputy after video footage shows him body-slamming a man to the ground. The footage shows Deputy Michael McMaster attempting to handcuff Tyler Canaris, who had been stopped while walking to work for matching the description of someone trying to break into cars. Canaris' attorneys are calling for the criminal case against him to be dismissed immediately and have claimed that there was no probable cause for the arrest, branding it unlawful. (Atlanta News First)
  2. A recent survey by real estate data company Clever revealed that 18% of people in the US would choose to live in Atlanta if money was no object, making it the second most popular "dream city" behind Los Angeles. The survey aimed to examine moving trends, and found that for those surveyed who had moved last year, the three biggest factors behind the decision were to improve their quality of life, to live in a cheaper area, and to get a bigger place. Suburbs were also found to be a popular destination for movers. (Urbanize Atlanta)
  3. A proposed law in Georgia aims to protect homeowners from unreliable solar installers who failed to deliver on their promises. Many residents who were drawn in by social media ads and promises of cutting their traditional power bill have been left with a hefty financial burden, an unsightly metal conduit, and a worthless solar system. Georgia state Rep. Joseph Gullett is sponsoring the bill, which will require written disclosures, informational videos, and state certifications to protect consumers from misleading sales pitches.
