- The Hiram Municipal Court in Georgia has been presented with the Clearance Rate Excellence Award by the Judicial Council of Georgia/Administrative Office of the Courts. The award β only awarded to the top 10 percent of each class of court βcommended the court's professionalism and hard work in serving the community and processing thousands of traffic and criminal cases each year. Court administrator Jason James thanked the mayor and city council for their support in meeting the mission of the court. (Hiram Georgia)
- A driver who was involved in a road rage incident in Paulding County remains hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself in the hand. Chandler Joseph Goode, the driver, reportedly became upset with workers who were making a lumber delivery and blocking the road. According to the sheriffβs office, he pointed a gun at the person directing traffic before walking back to his truck, during which he shot himself in the hand. Goode is now facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, reckless conduct, and discharge of a firearm, with the possibility of additional charges being filed. (WSB-TV)
- Paulding County's final public information meeting on the Parks and Recreation Master Plan for the Richland Creek reservoir property will take place at Burnt Hickory Park in the Wayne Kirby Community Center on Mar. 8 at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to present the final plan to the public; no more information meetings are planned. The plan outlines the park's design and the recreational opportunities that will be available to the public. (Paulding County, Georgia via Facebook)
- The Paulding County School District has released high school graduation dates for the Class of 2023. Graduation for East Paulding, Hiram, and South Paulding High Schools will take place on Friday, May 26, and graduation for North Paulding and Paulding County High Schools will take place on Saturday, May 27.
