  1. The CommUNITY Inclusion Celebration Day is an event that aims to celebrate the diverse cultures within the Paulding County community, which includes more than 50 languages and a variety of cultural backgrounds. The event will feature cultural activities, entertainment, vendors, and food trucks. Students from different Fine Arts programs across the district will perform cultural pieces and exhibits from museums will also be available. The event will take place on May 6 at Paulding County High School from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and it is an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate their differences and similarities.   2. A deputy from Paulding County Sheriff's Office, Michael McMaster, who was caught on camera slamming a man named Tyler Canaris onto the ground has been fired, according to officials. The incident, which occurred in March 2022, took place when McMaster approached Canaris, who he said, "matched the description of a suspect breaking into cars." After allegedly refusing to comply with commands, Canaris was handcuffed, leading to severe injuries, including a skull fracture and a traumatic brain injury. Canaris was charged with obstruction in December 2022, nine months after the incident. (Atlanta News First)
  3. According to the latest weather update, a cold front is expected to bring severe storms to Georgia on Friday. Heavy rainfall, strong winds, and potential hail are expected, particularly in the northern and central parts of the state. Residents are advised to take precautions and stay informed of the latest weather alerts.
