  1. On Dec. 19, Paulding County school officials were sworn into office. Paulding County Board of Education Chairman Dan Nolan, who won reelection to the school board District 6, was on hand to be sworn in. Paulding County Board of Education member John Dean, who also won his November re-election, was sworn into school board District 5. The oaths of office were issued by Probate Court Judge Angela Woodall. (Paulding County School District)
  2. Paulding County Detectives are investigating the murder of a Paulding County man on Saturday evening. On Dec. 17, residents of Warrenton Drive in Douglasville called police to report gunshots. When authorities arrived, they found 37-year-old Joshua Mitchell dead in the driveway from multiple gunshot wounds. Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.   3. Nearby Villa Rica is holding a winter holiday event that will keep you coming back for more. Winter Wonderland Train at Pine Mountain Gold Museum has been decked out with thousands of beautiful lights that will brighten up those cold winter nights. Santa Claus will also be in attendance to greet visitors and spread Christmas cheer. The Winter Wonderland Train will be heading out each Wednesday through Saturday until Dec. 30. (Explore Georgia)

A Dallas man has been arrested after allegedly murdering his friend early Sunday morning. 38-year-old Dane Kellum and some other friends were visiting 47-year-old David May at his home on Mill Pointe Drive in Dallas. The two reportedly became embroiled in a heated fight, which ended when May shot Kellum in the head. May was arrested without incident. (11Alive.com WXIA)
