Couple Caught Stealing Wire From Construction Site: Sheriff

PAULDING COUNTY, GA — Authorities say two people stole wire from a Dallas construction site and were arrested Tuesday. One of them is still in custody.

Authorities charged Timmy Rana Watson, 43, and Christine Denise Byers, 47, with loitering and theft by taking after deputies stopped their vehicle on the Dallas Acworth Highway with “a large quantity of wire” in it, according to Paulding County Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Ashley Henson.

An early-morning 911 call tipped off authorities when the caller reported seeing people with flashlights walking in and around new homes being built in the Northridge subdivision, Henson said.

After looking at Ring security camera footage taken by the caller and confirming with the builder the suspects weren’t allowed to take the wire, deputies arrested Watson and Byers. Watson bonded out on Wednesday, while Byers remains in the Paulding County Jail.
