Here are the top stories today in Dallas-Hiram:

  1. A man from Dallas, who is also a fugitive from Alabama, has been arrested in Rome on multiple charges, including forgery and fraud. According to reports, Noah Maxin Price is alleged to have cashed three forged checks at First National Bank in November of last year, although the value of the checks was not disclosed by police. In addition to being charged with three counts of third-degree forgery, Price also faces charges of felony identity fraud, printing checks with fictitious information, and being a fugitive from justice. (Coosa Valley News)
  2. A woman from Dallas is among the licensed individuals listed in the February administrative actions released by the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance. Alexandria Bowman consented to surrender her Wisconsin insurance license following allegations of misrepresentation and making unsuitable insurance product recommendations.
The list details actions taken against licensed individuals or companies who violated Wisconsin insurance statutes or regulations, with any forfeitures paid deposited in the Common School Fund. The earnings from the fund are used by school libraries in the state to purchase materials such as books, newspapers, and computers, benefiting public K-12 schools across Wisconsin. (InsuranceNewsNet)
  3. Georgia's GOP-controlled House passed a controversial bill, Dallas Republican Rep. Joseph Gullett’s House Bill 231, which would establish oversight boards with the power to remove district attorneys deemed to neglect certain prosecutions. The legislation would require the Georgia Supreme Court to appoint investigation and hearing panels that will determine disciplinary consequences for prosecutors who decline to prosecute low-level offenses. The Senate advanced a similar bill last week, with Republican lawmakers supporting the measures opposed by prosecuting and district attorney associations. Democrats have questioned the necessity of the oversight committee and pointed out that district attorneys can already face disciplinary measures if they have breached their duties. (Now Habersham)

From general contractors to electrical, plumbing, and HVAC contractors, they are interested in working with skilled professionals who are eager to take on projects big and small.
