  1. Hiram is looking for participants and vendors for its first-ever Juneteenth Parade and Merchant Event on Sunday. The event will be held at the Hiram Rosenwald School & Museum and is free for the public to attend. Parade participation costs $75, a vendor booth is $50, and a combined parade and vendor ticket is discounted at $100.   2. The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office invites all local 14- to 21-year-olds who are interested in learning more about law enforcement to become a Public Safety Cadet. Cadets meet every Thursday night from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Paulding County Sheriff's Office Training Center (284 Dallas Industrial Drive in Dallas). Participants gain a better understanding of the role of law enforcement in the community, as well as training and experience in leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence.   3. Four-star tight end Walter Matthews is the latest Hiram high school student to receive an offer of admission from Florida State University. The rising junior is approaching 20 offers, as he is currently ranked as the No. 166 overall prospect and No. 9 tight end in the class of 2024 by 247Sports.com. Jameson Riggs and Clinton Richard, a pair of offensive linemen from Hiram's class of 2024, also received offers from FSU in mid-May. (247Sports)
