Dallas Mom Rescues Son From Deal Gone Bad, Shoots At Attackers
Authorities said a 16-year-old boy met three men near a Kroger in Dallas to buy a phone. Instead, the sellers tried to rob him.
DALLAS, GA — Attackers were roughing up her son over a deal gone bad in a Kroger parking lot, so she did what any good mother would do — she shot a gun at them.
It happened when a 16-year old boy met Monday with three men to buy a phone advertised on social media, according to Dallas Police Assistant Chief Bill Gorman. With the meeting arranged outside a well-traveled Kroger on Ga. 278, the boy “did everything right,” Gorman told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
But things went south when the phone offered for sale wasn’t as promised.

The three men then punched the boy in the face, put him into a headlock and tried to rob him, according to his mother — who, unknown to the attackers, was sitting nearby in her truck.
She responded by firing a single shot at them. The three men fled. Dallas Police were then called to the Kroger parking lot at about 1:45 p.m.

Other than a bloody nose for the boy, no one was injured, and there was no apparent gunshot damage to nearby vehicles or businesses. Gorman told the Atlanta newspaper that the mother is not expected to face charges.
Investigators are now working to find the suspects using surveillance video and data from the boy’s cellphone.
