Dallas Secures $10M Loan For Extending Sewer Service Paves Way For Future Development
The loan will finance the first phase of a project to extend sewer service to the West Dallas Basin, allowing for future area development.
DALLAS, GA — Eight Georgia communities were awarded loans or loan increases from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) board of directors, including a sizable loan for the city of Dallas.
GEFA awarded the city of Dallas a $10.1 million loan increase, which will finance the construction of a new regional lift station, force main and gravity sewer, according to a news release.
This is the first phase of a project to extend sewer service to the West Dallas Basin, which will allow for future development of the area, the release said. The city will pay 0.13 percent interest on the 20-year loan, which is eligible for a reduced interest rate because the city is a WaterFirst Community.
