PAULDING COUNTY, GA — The Paulding County Sheriff's Office is hiring sheriff's deputies and detention officers. See below for tons of information on benefits and specifics about these law enforcement jobs.

Deputy Sheriff duties include but are not limited to patrolling the county, protecting the public, and enforcing the laws of the State of Georgia through arrest or other appropriate means. It pays $41,299.44 to start.

In addition, the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office provides the following equipment for all Deputies:
- All uniforms provided
- ASP Baton
- Bulletproof vest
- Glock.45 caliber primary weapon
- Handcuffs
- Mobile data terminal (MDT)
- O.C. Spray
- Portable Radio
- Shotgun
- Take home patrol car (after successful completion of the FTO program)
- Taser ECD
- Total uniform apparel to include boots and leather duty gear
- Video/audio camera for patrol car
- Weapon mounted flashlight
Detention officer duties are to provide safety for inmates and the facility. It pays $37,411.92 to start.

- Extensive training for job proficiency

Medical and Dental
- Medical Benefits are provided by Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield

Annual Leave
- 1st year - 40 hours
- 2 to 4 years - 80 hours
- 5 to 9 years - 96 hours
- 10+ years - 120 hours

8 hours monthly or 96 hours yearly

Vested after 5 years
Overtime pay
After 86 hours in a biweekly period.
Shift Differential Pay
Detention Officer and Deputy Sheriff positions are eligible for night shift differential pay which is an additional $1 per hour on top of your regular hourly pay rate.
Work Cycle
84 hours every two weeks. Shifts are 5:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
Fitness Center
Fitness Center is available to the officers 24 hours daily and is geared towards strength training.
