- On Jan. 11, the family of Le'Den Boykins, a 12-year-old boy killed in a 2021 PIT maneuver wreck, released the dashcam video of the pursuit. Boykins was one of two children in the car during the chase through Paulding County. A Georgia State Patrol trooper used the PIT maneuver and the car rolled into a ditch, killing the young boy. The driver, Charlie Moore, a neighbor of Boykins' parents, was ultimately charged with murder. The family hopes to see charges for the involved law enforcement officers. (11 Alive)
- On Jan. 11, Justin Clinard, a 10-year-old of Paulding County, fulfilled his life-long dream of becoming an honorary member of the Georgia Air National Guard. Justin was diagnosed with two inoperable brain tumors last April and doctors say he has months to live. Justin became a part of the 283rd Combat Communications Squadron of the Georgia National Guard just like his father, Scott. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
