- Due to a construction project at SR 360/Macland Road, from New Macland Road/Cobb to SR 120/Paulding, there will be daily lane closures between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The project is scheduled for completion in November 2023, call (404) 631-1023 for more information. (Cobb County Courier)
- New allegations about Herschel Walker, the Republican Senate nominee in Georgia and an unwavering opponent of abortion even in cases of rape and incest, has come out. A woman, who will remain anonymous to protect her son, said she was in a relationship with Walker and that Walker paid for her abortion in 2009. She also said that he urged her to terminate a second pregnancy two years later. When she refused, their relationship ended. (The New York Times)
- Calling all archers: don't miss the Paulding County 4-H Archery 18m Outdoor Fall Tournament! Practice begins at 9:00 a.m., with scoring starting at 10:00 a.m. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 472 Paulding Meadows Drive in Dallas. (Dallas-Hiram Patch)
- Democrat Stacey Abrams, a candidate in the Georgia governor race, has raised more money during the race than incumbent Republican Brian Kemp. Abrams raised $85 million, while as of Oct. 5, Kemp raised $28.7 million. (The Derrick.com)
