PAULDING COUNTY, GA — An 83-year-old man died Tuesday morning in a house fire in the Temple community, authorities said.

At 6:48 a.m., dispatchers received multiple calls about the fire at a home on Courthouse Park Drive, according to a statement from Paulding County Fire & Rescue.

Firefighters who arrived moments later found “heavy smoke and flames coming from the front of the residence,” said spokesperson Lt. Steve Mapes. Several residents who had already escaped the burning house told first responders that another male was still trapped in the kitchen area, Mapes said.
