Here are the top stories today in Dallas-Hiram:
- The Paulding County School District is investigating an incident involving a fight between parents and a substitute bus driver that was caught on video. The entire altercation, which took place on Jan. 18, was caught on a TikTok video that quickly became viral. In the video, you can see the bus driver getting slapped in the face by a parent. The driver then closed the doors with the children still inside and attempted to drive off. Parents could be seen banging on the vehicle and telling their screaming children to climb out the bus windows. Apparently, the incident began when the substitute driver blocked up traffic, leaving the children unable to leave the bus and reach their parents. (WSB-TV)
- A local Paulding non-profit was just one of the organizations to receive a large donation from the LGE Community Outreach Foundation. The organization donated $303,317 to charities in the metro-Atlanta area. CASA of Paulding County received part of the donation. Other counties in the area that received donations include Cobb, Douglas, Fulton, and Cherokee. (Subscription: MDJ Online)
