- On Dec. 10, West Ridge Church will be holding its Hope For Christmas Event, providing support and kindness to needy families this holiday season. There will be over 2,600 volunteer opportunities to serve more than 1,000 families. The event will offer childcare services so parents can have some time to shop on their own, a secret Santa shop, photographers, face painters, and much more. The event is still accepting volunteers who want to help out and give these families some joy this holiday season. (EventBrite)
- Georgia is currently dealing with sharply rising numbers of sick residents as a "tripledemic" spreads across the country. Officials are reporting a worrying increase in cases of seasonal flu, COVID-19, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). While RSV numbers declined nationally, they are still high enough to cause concern. Meanwhile, COVID-19 hospitalizations are steadily on the rise. But it's the flu numbers that are raising the biggest concerns: in Georgia, there have already been two confirmed flu-related deaths as well as 60 hospitalizations as of Nov. 19. (Patch)
- If you're looking for a classic rendition of "The Nutcracker," Studio 4 the Arts is ready to deliver. The local, award-winning dance company is returning for its eighth year on the stage. The dance troupe performs an elegant, classic rendition of the beloved ballet that will delight fans of all ages. The performance will run for four shows. (ShowClix)
- The First Orchestra and Worship Choir will be holding its 23rd presentation of the annual Carols By Candlelight Event. There will be three chances to see the concert, which will feature an orchestra and live singers for a truly unique caroling event. The concerts are scheduled for Dec. 4 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Dec. 5 at 7:00 p.m. (Atlanta Parent)
