- A Georgia State Patrol trooper is recovering in the hospital after being shot during a police operation on Wednesday. The officers and troopers were tasked with removing people from the area near a public safety training facility in southeast Atlanta, commonly known as "Cop City." During the attempt, a suspect fired at law enforcement. The trooper who was struck is in stable condition; the suspect was killed when officers returned fire. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- If you know a kid or teen who loves anime, we've got good news: The Maude P. Ragsdale Hiram Library is once again hosting Anime Club. They just had their first meeting of the year, but there's still time to get in on the fun. The second meeting will be held on Jan. 31 at 5:00 p.m. (Maude P. Ragsdale Hiram Library)
