  1. According to the Haralson-Paulding Drug Task Force, an anonymous tip led police to raid a convenience store in Haralson County. Agents were told pills with Tianeptine, a schedule one drug in the state, were being sold at an unidentified store. The $30,000 bust seized over 1,200 bottles of "Za Za," "Tianaa," and "Tiara" which were on display at the counter. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. Stetson Bennett, the quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, was chosen as a Heisman Memorial Trophy finalist. Bennett is one of four finalists announced by ESPN on Monday. According to Sports Illustrated, he is the first Georgia quarterback – and Bulldog – to be named a finalist in three decades. The Heisman winner will be announced on ESPN at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.   3. The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced it would be investing $981 million in new and better market opportunities for rural businesses in almost every U.S. state. Georgia is included in 47 states that will receive awards to expand opportunities for communities and people who have historically lacked access to essential resources and funding. (USDA.gov)
