  1. It looks like it's going to be a rough week for weather in Georgia. The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook on Dec. 5. There is expected heavy rain across north and central Georgia. This could cause localized flooding throughout the region. Paulding County is among the counties affected by the warning, which runs through the rest of the week. (Cobb County Courier)
  2. Sexually transmitted disease rates throughout Georgia are the highest they've been in a decade, and medical professionals are cautioning people to exercise caution. New cases have risen sharply across the state, particularly gonorrhea and syphilis. Experts believe there are numerous reasons for the surge, including declining use of condoms. These illnesses can cause complications for those struggling with other health issues, and officials are concerned how these rising numbers could impact Georgia hospitals already feeling the strain from flu, COVID-19, and assorted respiratory illnesses.   3. The Paulding County Library System is offering a fun treat for kids this December. All Paulding County Libraries (including New Georgia Public Library) will be giving out free My Little Library Bags. These bags contain fun books and other goodies.
