Hiram City Manager Steps Down to 'Embark on New Journey'

Robbie Rokovitz, Hiram's first city manager, submitted his resignation Tuesday.

Hiram’s first city manager Robbie Rokovitz submitted his resignation to the Mayor and Council Tuesday evening, according to an announcement.

His resignation is effective Sept. 25 in compliance with the notice requirements of his contact.

Rokovitz said he was “given a conditional offer to embark on a new journey in the private sector that presents some significant opportunities for personal and professional growth.”

He also stated that he will work with the City Council and staff to make sure the transition is smooth and seamless and assist in whatever direction the Council chooses to take.

“It has been an honor and pleasure to work with such a high caliber of professionals who have always exhibited unwavering dedication to their mission to serve Hiram,” Rokovitz said.

At this time, there has been no official decision on addressing the impending vacancy. According to the City Charter, “Upon removal or vacancy or prior to the time the city council appoints a city manager upon absence or disability, the city council shall appoint a temporary city manager by majority vote of its members.”
