How Did Paulding Fare on the CRCT?

When it comes to the percentage of test takers who met or exceeded state standards in reading, language arts, math, science and social studies, Paulding County students at nearly every grade level fared better than their counterparts across the state on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Test, according to results from the Georgia Department of Education.

There were a few exceptions, particularly in seventh and eighth grade language arts and science.

While school-by-school CRCT results won't be available until July, district and statewide results were released today.

Here's the breakdown by subject area and grade:

• Reading

• 96.5 percent of Paulding third graders met or exceeded standards (State: 92.1)
• Fourth grade: 94 percent (State: 92.5)
• Fifth grade: 95.2 percent (State: 92.9)
• Sixth grade: 97.4 percent (State: 96)
• Seventh grade: 94.9 percent (State: 94.7)
  
• Eighth grade: 97.2 percent (State: 96.8)
  

• 92.5 percent of Paulding third graders met or exceeded standards (State: 88.1)
• Fourth grade: 91.0 percent (State: 90.2)
• Fifth grade: 95.8 percent (State: 94.2)
• Sixth grade: 93.3 percent (State: 92.4)
• Seventh grade: 92.7 percent (State: 93)
  
• Eighth grade: 93.9 percent (State: 94.3)

• 85.8 percent of Paulding third graders met or exceeded standards (State: 78.5)
• Fourth grade: 88.5 percent (State: 84.3)
• Fifth grade: 91.1 percent (State: 89.5)
• Sixth grade: 87.8 percent (State: 82.7)
• Seventh grade: 91 percent (State: 89.9)
• Eighth grade: 87.3 percent (State: 83)

• 82.9 percent of Paulding third graders met or exceeded standards (State: 78.4)
• Fourth grade: 83.5 percent (State: 82.7)
• Fifth grade: 80.6 percent (State: 79.6)
• Sixth grade: 77.8 percent (State: 74.0)
• Seventh grade: 84.7 percent (State: 85.2)
• Eighth grade: 76.1 percent (State: 74)

• 87.9 percent of Paulding third graders met or exceeded standards (State: 83.4)
• Fourth grade: 83.8 percent (State: 81.3)
• Fifth grade: 85.4 percent (State: 80.5)
• Sixth grade: 83.8 percent (State: 77.5)
• Seventh grade: 84.6 percent (State: 82.7)
• Eighth grade: 84.4 percent (State: 77.9)
