Latest Paulding County Coronavirus Update

Here are the latest local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is affecting Paulding County:

PAULDING COUNTY, GA β€” The new coronavirus outbreak in Georgia and across the nation continues to affect Paulding County, where schools remain shuttered and businesses have been closed in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.

The number of coronavirus deaths and confirmed cases in Georgia continues to rise. At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Georgia Department of Public Health reports Fulton County's 599 cases are the most of any Georgia locality, with 18 deaths recorded. The highest number of deaths is in Dougherty County, with 26; its total number of cases rank second at 466. The next highest number of cases are in DeKalb with 360 cases, Cobb with 287 cases, Gwinnett with 242 cases, Bartow with 137 cases and Carroll with 123 cases.

SCHOOLS
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp ordered public schools to remain closed through April 24. No Digital Learning Days will be held during spring break, still scheduled for April 6-10.
